Charanams present their nature themed compositions this spring at DROM.

Charanams, the winner of the Battle of the Boroughs 2011, is a world music, cross genre band that blends two great styles of music - carnatic, the South Indian Classical and Jazz. The band presents original compositions of Nivedita ShivRaj that are based on Indian ragas blended with jazz, improvised music style and contemporary rhythms.

The music presented by Charanams is unique, appealing to multi-ethnic audience of all age groups, transcending language, cultural and racial differences - speaking the universal language of music.
