An all star cast has been brought together for the West Coast Premiere of The Color Purple - a limited six week production.

San Francisco Cast includes:
• Jeannette Bayardelle (Miss Celie): The original Miss Celie from the tour cast of the Broadway production.
• Michelle Williams (Shug Avery): Grammy winner and former Destiny’s Child member
• La Toya London (Nettie): American Idol runner up in Season Three with Jennifer Hudson and Fantasia
• Felicia P. Fields (Sophia): Tony Award winning actress who has owned the role of Sophia

From the classic Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by Alice Walker, and the moving film by Steven Spielberg, comes a soul-stirring new musical and landmark Broadway event. THE COLOR PURPLE is an inspiring saga that tells the unforgettable story of a woman who – through love – finds the strength to triumph over adversity and discover her unique voice in the world. Set to a joyous score featuring jazz, ragtime, gospel, and blues, THE COLOR PURPLE is a story of hope, a testament to the healing power of love and a celebration of life.

• 5:00 pm: Juke Joint Party at the Civic Center Plaza – VIP Reception Tent. (Entrance on Larkin Street, between Grove and McAllister).

• 7:00 pm: Walk over to the Orpheum Theatre.

• 8:00 pm: Curtains Draw for The Color Purple. 2 hours and 40 minutes, with a 15 min intermission.
