Certified: Artists and Their Wedding Documents September 16, 2011

The Museum of Art collaborates with the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution, on 'Certified: Artists and Their Wedding Documents,' an exhibition of works from the Institute's collection and wedding-related archival documents of the artists who created them. Included are photographs of Robert Motherwell and Helen Frankenthaler at their Provincetown studio, and of Bob and Carol Thompson's 1960 wedding reception; Lee Krasner and Jackson Pollock's marriage certificate, as well as Christo's design notes for 'Wedding Dress,' 1967, that is on view in 'Wedded Perfection: Two Centuries of Wedding Gowns.' The show is on view in the Cardamone Gallery.
