Cerberus Shoal:

Existing on the outer edges of art and music, Cerberus Shoal is a six piece group that has existed with varied line-ups for almost ten years. The music at this time is eclectic and dense; instrumentation includes electric and stand up bass, harmonium and accordian, electric and acoustic guitar, banjo, samples, full drum kit, tympany and marimba, trumpet, keyboards and a great amount of vocals with spoken word all the way to female/male three part harmony. The music has a great Eastern European and Middle Eastern influence as well as a heavy dose of experimentation and avant garde.

Kayo Dot (Tzadik):

Kayo Dot powerfully integrates elements of modern classical composition with the layers of guitars and vocals more common to rock and metal. They use a vast array of instrumentation to create an exciting convergence of violence and serenity, bridging the chasm between traditionally disparate schools of composition.
