Find out when the modern-day musical Once opens this seasons Williamsburg Regional Library Celtic Film Series on Wednesday, October 1 at 7 p.m. It will be presented free of charge in the Williamsburg Library Theatre, 515 Scotland Street. For more information, contact the library at (757) 259-4070. William and Mary English Professor Emeritus Jack Willis will introduce the film.

Once tells the story of an Irish busker and a Czech immigrant and their eventful week in Dublin, as they write, rehearse and record songs that tell their love story. The 2006, R-rated film, which was made for less than $200,000 won an Academy Award for best original song, and a host of other international awards.

Williamsburg Regional Library presents the Celtic Film Series, now in its ninth season, in cooperation with the local chapters of the St. Andrew Society and the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians. The series explores the history, drama and quirky humor of films made in or about Scotland and Ireland.
