THIRTEEN & WLIW21's Celebration of Teaching & Learning will mark an important milestone on March 5 & 6, 2010 in New York City at the Hilton New York - five years of bringing educators together to share experiences, keep pace with the latest thinking in education, inspire creativity and curiosity in classrooms, and shape the future of schools! This year’s Celebration is the marquee event of New York City’s first annual New York Celebrates Teaching & Learning Week as proclaimed by Mayor Bloomberg.

The Celebration is where knowledge meets inspiration as global experts, activists, academics, thinkers and more than 8,500 educators address today's most relevant issues in education related to English Language Arts, Instructional Technology, Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM), Social Studies and Whole School Issues.

Educators will hear from dynamic, nationally acclaimed speakers and artists, including U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan; Lisa Henson, Chief Executive Officer of The Jim Henson Company; Bobby McFerrin, ten-time Grammy Award winning composer, vocalist and conductor; Queen Latifah, musician and television & film actress; Her Majesty Queen Noor, international public servant; David Gregory, Host of NBC's Meet the Press; The Honorable Richard W. Riley, former U.S. Secretary of Education; Steve Spangler, “the science guy" from the Ellen Degeneres Show; David Rose, founder and CEO of the Center for Applied Special Technology; Diane Ravitch, historian and education author; Linda Darling-Hammond, Stanford professor; Franklin Chang Diaz, former NASA astronaut; Alan Blankstein, founder and president of the HOPE Foundation; and Katherine Paterson, acclaimed author and National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature as well as many others.
