Let Viva la Musica set your holiday season aglow! The Bay Area choir and orchestra known for its culturally-diverse musical performances presents Celebrate the Nativity, a set of three unique holiday selections. Durante's Magnificat is an Italian 18th Century Baroque musical depiction of the Canticle of the Virgin Mary that percolates with warmth and splendor. Benjamin Britten's A Ceremony of Carols, the famous Christmas piece arranged for choir and harp, conjures nativity scenes set in Medieval England, by turns mysterious and exuberant. Navidad Nuestra, an Hispanic-American musical drama of the nativity of Christ, is infused with irresistible South American rhythms. The Masquers Carol by Bay Area composer Richard Evans will be featured in its premiere performance. A selection of much-loved traditional carols close the program.

Viva la Musica is pleased to announce that the Hillsdale High School Chamber Singers and their Director Mark Fish will collaborate in these performances. Viva Artistic Director Shulamit Hoffmann says, "This is a win-win:Viva choristers bring their experience and commitment, and the high school choristersbring youthful verve, a recipe for lively and polished performances."

Four professional soloists are featured: Deirdre Lobo D'Cunha, soprano, Mona Dena, soprano, Corey Head, tenor, and Rick Williams, bass-baritone.
