Brook Batteau has one of the finest voices in the rock/pop world with a giant range of notes and a chest of vocal capabilities that include utterances from Nigeria, Puerto Rico, New Orleans and the great American soul blanket. You can also still hear his alternative rock influences from his early career in Cambridge and Boston. Some compare his singing to a cross between David Byrne and Roy Orbison (in a purple rain). There is truth to this, but it’s more accurate to say that he sounds like he comes from another planet. (This is a real compliment to the other planet.) He is known to New England friends and fans as an artist who always puts out 100% of original emotionally driven soul/pop/rock (tribal dream pop) whenever and wherever he hits the stage.

Brook Batteau and the New Cosmology features Kate Hennessey (hypxotic beat goddess) on drums. Kate started playing drums in high school with a rag tag band of bleary-eyed teenagers in the only skipping band in the dual county football league and went on to beat her tribal rhythms in street parades and at dance parties around the world.
