with Patrick Mooney. In Floral Hall at 7:30 p.m. ‘Biophilia’ means ‘love of life or living systems.’ Enjoyable by definition, biophilic landscape design strengthens the instinctive bond between humans and nature. Patrick will show examples and strategies of biophilic landscapes and discuss the positive effects on humans and ecosystem health. Dr. Mooney is a Professor of Landscape Architecture at UBC, and consults to the B.C. Ministry of Environment, regional parks, city governments and environmental groups on habitat management and restoration. He designed and supervised the installation of the wetlands at Maplewood Flats, a Provincial Wildlife Management Area located on Burrard Inlet
