Catch the Big-Wave at Maverick's A New Permanent Exhibit January 2, 2010

North of Half Moon Bay in San MateoCounty is Maverick's where 40-foot high thunderous waves draw the best big-wave surfers from all over the world. In December 2008, visitors at the San MateoCountyHistoryMuseum will be able to take advantage of a new exhibit where they can surf a "virtual Maverick's on the Waverider, a multi sensory game interface. Located on the second floor of the restored 1910 Courthouse turned Museum, visitors can look down onto Courthouse Square which is nearly 40 feet below...the perfect spot to "experience the reality" of the scale of a Maverick's wave.
