At a time when Spain’s gastronomic landscape is in the national spotlight, the Ferrer Wine Estates of Spain have once again joined forces with Daniel Olivella of B-44 Restaurant for an educational series on cuisine from the region of Catalunya. Encompassing the vibrancy and ingenuity inherent in the area surrounding Barcelona, Catalan cooking naturally takes its cues from up in the mountains to deep in the Mediterranean Sea. The cuisine may incorporate many foods that are familiar to residents of the Bay Area but the robust flavors of Catalan cuisine are a sensory hurricane that will set your taste buds tingling with delight!

Date: Thursday, October 11, 2007 from 6 pm – 8 pm.

Venue: Purcell Murray, 185 Park Lane, Brisbane, CA 94005

Event: Demonstration cooking class with Executive Chef Daniel Olivella of B-44 Catalan Bistro. Catalan wine seminar with Barcelona-native Eva Bertran, featuring wines from Ferrer Wine Estates (www.heredadcollection.com and www.seguraviudas.com). Cavas and wines from Catalunya.
