Carytown
Richmond, Virginia

Carytown's newest street festival is being produced by River City Productions, the same company that puts on the ever-popular Watermelon Festival each summer. Like the Watermelon Festival, the Carytown Wine Festival will close off Cary Street from Nansemond to Colonial, allowing vendors, musicians and food purveyors to take over the concrete.

Eleven Virginia wineries will be featured in Cary Court, where you can sample more than 50 local wines. Burnley Vineyards, Cooper Vineyards, First Colony Winery, Hartwood Winery, Hill Top Berry Farm & Winery, Horton Winery, James River Cellars, Peaks of Otter Winery, Prince Michel, Rebec Vineyards and Wintergreen Winery will all be in attendance, offering their goods, many of which have won awards in Virginia and beyond. Prince Michel, for example, recently took home eight medals at the prestigious Tasters Guild International Wine Competition held in Grand Rapids, Michigan, while James River Cellars' 2004 Dolce Vino dessert wine won the 2005 Governor's Cup.
