Carrickfergus Armed Forces Day June 25, 2011

Northern Ireland’s official Armed Forces Day event will take place in Carrickfergus on Saturday 25 June 2011. Building on the success of the event in recent years, this year’s celebration of our Armed Forces promises to be bigger and better than ever! With a new Waterside location of Carrickfergus Harbour, this year will see a true coming together of the tri-services including the berthing of HMS Pursuer, army static and interactive displays, a Royal Navy Sea King helicopter flypast and static display and an army Gazelle helicopter. Carrickfergus Borough Council has organised a host of family entertainment and the NIEA has waived admission fees to Carrickfergus Castle for the duration of the event. Carrickfergus will be resurrected again as a truly garrison town!
