Journey into the heart of Ancient Egypt with Carousel Theatre for Young People’s final production of their 2010/11 season with the Canadian premiere of PHARAOH SERKET AND THE LOST STONE OF FIRE. A new adventure inspired by the legends of Egypt, playwright JOHN OLIVE creates a mystical mystery that will have audiences on the edge of their seats. The mysterious Zalira (MARLENE GINADER) and the sneeze-afflicted palace scribe, Bakneb (PARNELLI PARNES), must aid the young and spoiled Pharaoh Serket (ALEX ROSE) if he is to escape death at the hands of his ever present enemies. Together they journey deep into the desert to find the Lost Stone of Fire, a gem so mystical it is believed to grant its owner immortality. However, Serket’s quest brings him a treasure even greater.
