Carnival Science returns to the Maryland Science Center with three-rings of family fun worthy of the big top!

The star attraction will be Rhys Thomas, former Smithsonian Artist-in-Residence. Rhys will demonstrate the physics of fun at his fabulous Science Circus, where he will introduce Newton’s laws using a blend of science, daredevil stunts and comedy. Rhys will juggle a bowling ball with a ping pong ball, spin nine glass bowls, balance a rose on his nose and wield objects from feathers to swords to help visitors appreciate the laws of physics.

On Saturday, the Walter Johnson High School Rubik’s Cube Club will demonstrate how to beat the 3D puzzle that has stumped solvers for decades.

Former yo-yo world champion, Chuck Pribulick, will be on hand to teach guests the ups and downs of yo-yo mastery on Sunday, with help from the Eldersburg Library Yo-Yo Club.

Guests can compete in carnival games as they learn the tricks behind such circus staples as plate spinning and wire walking.
