This Saturday Night: Carnival Of Souls (1962). Directed by Herk Harvey.

Carnival Of Souls has become legendary for it's tensely creepy atmosphere created with virtually no special effects. While drag racing with some friends a young woman is involved in a crash that sends her car plunging off a bridge. She miraculously pulls herself from the river, the soul survivor. In an effort to restart her life after the accident she moves to a new town to take a job as a church organist but a distinctly eerie and hollow-faced man in a black suit seems to be following her wherever she goes...
