Carlsbad Republican Women Federated October Luncheon October 23, 2012

On Tuesday, October 23, the Carlsbad Republican Women Federated (CRWF) will celebrate its 65th Anniversary at their monthly meeting at the Hilton Garden Inn, 6450 Carlsbad Blvd. Carlsbad Mayor Matt Hall will present a Proclamation in Recognition of the club’s 65th Anniversary at 11:20 a.m. during the social hour, followed by a meeting and guest speaker, award winning talk show host, Chip Franklin.
Twice awarded the National Edward R. Murrow award for writing and overall excellence, Mr. Franklin has also won more than 35 National Associated Press and Achievement in Radio awards, including Best Talk Show Host, Best Documentary and Best Political Convention Coverage at the 2000 and 2004 Republican and Democratic conventions. He began his broadcasting career in Washington, D.C. and 17 years later can now be heard mornings in San Diego on the top rated news/talk KOGO.

The Carlsbad Republican Women Federated has a long and illustrious history, which began in 1947 as the Oceanside/Carlsbad Republican Women Club. By 1963, they were meeting at the Wayside Inn in Carlsbad and they changed their name to the North Shore Republican Women. Some years later, in 1974, the name was changed to the Carlsbad Republican Women Federated. CRWF meets every fourth Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn.
