Hello Alumni,

Please join us for The Summer Soiree weekend, also called the second chance reunion, to celebrate 50 years of Carlsbad High School Alumni. It is hard to believe CHS turned the big 50. The Summer Soiree has become such a big hit the past few years that we are doing it again.

We asked for your suggestions for this year's Summer Soiree Second Chance Reunion Weekend 2008 and this is what we have for you...

* Have a summer weekend event, not just one night. Join us August 1, 2, 3, 2008
* Make it affordable for everyone. Tickets are $20.00 Dollars per person for the entire weekend.
* Make the events casual and fun, Not one one of those pretentious and stuffy reunions. See the hints and dress code suggestions below.

How about this... What if we make the events affordable. $20.00 Dollars. That's right 20 bucks is all it takes. The event is Totally casual, Totally affordable, Totally Carlsbad Alumni. The Summer Soiree for less than $50.00 Dollars per person for the weekend of events! Spend as little, or as much as you as you want! You must RSVP to [email protected] to get this special deal.

We want to make it affordable for everyone, so we just lowered the cover charge to $20.00 Dollars. That's right 20 bucks for the weekend of events. RSVP now! You just saved $5.00 Bucks. That's a gallon of gas, so gas up the moped, Kiss your grandma, and get here...So what if it takes you 9 hours from Yuma to Carlsbad... you don't want to miss this! Friday, August 1, 2008-

What - The Friday Night Fiesta at Fidel's, also called Norte. When - 7:00pm - Close -
Where - 3003 Carlsbad BLVD, Carlsbad, CA 92008. 760.729.0903. Tickets are $20.00 Dollars per person. Under the stars on the patio. You can't beat this for a warm August night. Food deals and a no host bar. (Hint: This is a great event if you are shy. You can see some old friends and make some new ones.)

Saturday, August 2, 2008-

Here is what we have for you... Dance to Live Music from the 70's - 80's - 90's with the band- The (Duh) M-80's. Ocean House (formerly Neiman's, Twinn Inns) 300 Carlsbad Village Drive, Carlsbad, CA 92008. 760.729.4131. 5:30pm - 9:00pm Live Music and Dancing. The DJ will be spinning tunes from 9:00pm - Close.Tickeks are included with the weekend package if you paid Friday night, otherwise it is $20.00 Dollars at the door. No host bar and food. (Hint: This is a great event for small business owners to network at, so get your business cards and web address ready.)

Sunday, August 3, 2008-

Important! In case you have not heard, they are tearing down CHS beggining in August. This is our last chance to take a group photo in the Home side bleachers. 1:30pm at the CHS Football Field. Meet at the 50 yard line seats under the press box.

The Carlsbad Alumni Battle of the Chefs picnic potluck. 2:00pm - 4:00pm.
Magee Park - 200 Beech St., Carlsbad, CA 92008. Overlooking the Pacific Ocean, this 2 1/2-acre historical park has shuffleboard, horseshoe pits, a picnic area with barbecue facilities and a beautiful rose garden.
This is a totally casual picnic. This year we would like to see who comes up the best nachos or mac and cheese. It is amazing what some people can do with cheese whiz and Velveeta. It does not have to be anything fancy. (Hint: You can bring chips and salsa, just brind something to share.)

After Party in the Village of Carlsbad. 5:00pm - 9:00pm - Coyote Bar & Grill - 300 Carlsbad Village Dr # 108 Carlsbad, CA 92008 (760) 729-4695 (Hint: Come and hang out with us. A Carlsbad alumni might be making a special music appearence at this event.)

What to Wear - Dress Code: This is a casual, no hassle, fun weekend. Dress in your favorite jeans, Rock and Roll T-shirts, crops, and Summer dresses, or whatever you have been hiding in your closet. You are encouraged to to wear any or all of the following colors: Purple, White, Yellow, or Gold (It is the 50th Anniversary of CHS).

Who - Please contact any Carlsbad alumni (1958 - 2008), staff, and friends; everyone is welcome! You must be at least 18 years of age. 21 & up with valid I.D. to enter bar. Don't Drink and Drive.
