PERFORMANCE/WORKSHOP READING
In this thrilling new work by Carey Perloff, artistic director of American Conservatory Theater, a high-powered Jewish architect discovers that his rival in a competition to design a memorial in Israel is the woman he is madly in love with. As they roam from the sleek rooms of New York apartments to the muddy shores of the Sea of Galilee, working to appease both a well-meaning Jewish widow and a young Israeli man whose father has been murdered, the two architects are stretched to the limits of their creativity and love.

Directed by Mark Rucker, the workshop readings of Higher take place in the Museum’s iconic Yud Gallery, where a soaring 65-foot ceiling, walls at dramatic angles, and 36 diamond-shaped skylights provide a unique space for memorable performances.
Presented in collaboration with A.C.T.
