There are over 3 million elementary and secondary school teachers and over 1.6 million college professors in the United States. The aging of the American population will result in the retirement of thousands of these educators every year for the foreseeable future. Accordingly, the demand for qualified educators is expected to grow rapidly as school systems and colleges search for replacements to meet the continuing needs of those seeking formal education. We will explore the qualifications needed and the many options that teachers/educators have - classroom teaching, tutoring, corporate training, counseling and educational administration.
