In its continuing program of seminars committed to helping professional women in the Bay Area to improve their career potential while leading balanced, relevant personal lives, the California Professional Women's Association will hold its September meeting in San Mateo at the studios of KCSM TV & Radio, on the College of San Mateo campus.

This meeting will feature a presentation by Kennette Reed titled 'How to Get Published and Profit.' All professionals - executives, veterans, and interns - and students are invited. Online advance registration is $20 for members; $35 for non-members.

According to Carol Reeves, director and founder of CaPWA, the meeting at KCSM will address key issues of importance to many professionals-increasing name recognition, perceived market value, and income. "We want to enrich the lives of working women--both personally and professionally-and we want to suggest options that can be followed to move careers in productive areas of growth and success," Ms. Reeves said.

According to Christine DiLacqua, president of CaPWA, collaborating with KCSM provides another opportunity to support local, community-oriented organizations. "One of CaPWA's goals is to act as an outreach channel to organizations seeking volunteers and community support. CaPWA is excited about working with KCSM Jazz 91 on its upcoming pledge drives," Ms. DiLacqua said.

According to Sinclair Crockett, Development Director at KCSM, "as one of the few public stations in the country with women in the general manager, chief engineer, and other key positions, KCSM applauds CaPWA for their role in inspiring women leaders of today and the future."

The featured speaker, Kennette Reed, is a multiple-time self-published author. Her books include Discovering Your Passion, Steps Along Your Path, and From Idea to Author: How to Become Successfully Published. Ms. Reed is the principal of Kennette Reed & Associates and a noted performance coaching and retention consultant.

$20 members; $35 non-members.
