Formed in 1771, Captain Anderson's Company of the 4th Battalion Royal Artillery played a significant role in the War of American Independence. Led by Captain Anderson, a veteran of the siege of Havana the previous decade, the group saw action in Boston, Staten Island, and Yorktown, where some of its members were captured. Today's re-enactment unit adopts a uniform style from the middle years of the war, which includes a raccoon tail cap to distinguish them as serving in the American theater.
