Cape Epic Mountain Bike Race April 21, 2006

The CAPE EPIC has established itself as the world?s largest full service mountain bike stage race, recognised by the Olympic Cycling Body (UCI) and attaining unprecedented success in global media coverage.

The CAPE EPIC, will kick off for the third time on 22 April 2006 in Knysna and lead over 900 mountain bikers from across the globe through the magnificent scenery of the Western Cape. To deserve the honourable title 'CAPE EPIC Finisher', they will have to ride more than 900 gruelling kilometres and climb some 16000 vertical metres during their adventurous eight-day journey which will end on 29 April 2006 at the Spier Wine Estate just outside Cape Town.

Cyclists ride through eight beautiful Western Cape towns before they get to the final destination.
