It's time to go paddling, jumping, sliding and
abseiling into the river wild! If you are looking for
BIG THRILLS then this is the event you definitely
don't want to miss!

What: Canyoning, whitewater rafting, full moon party
and onsen trip
When: May 13-14 (Saturday/Sunday)
Where: Minakami, Gunma

A brief description of what will happen on the trip:
- Meet at Minakami station at 8:50am on Saturday.
Check train times here:
http://www.jorudan.co.jp/english/norikae/e-norikeyin.html
- From there, we will go over to the Canyons base.
Everyone has to fill out an insurance form and get the
gear on, wetsuit, wet jacket, life jacket, harness and
helmet (all provided).
- We will then head to the Fox Canyon, have a safety
briefing, a group photo and then begin Canyoning.

What is Canyoning?
Negotiate your way down steep canyons by abseiling and
jumping waterfalls and cliffs, cascading down natural
chutes and swimming through crystal clear pools. 80%
of the time is spent in the water. The main
attractions are the 20-m waterfall slide and 10-m
super drop. If you want to see what exactly it looks
like then check the background photo on the website
http://www.tokyogaijins.com/outdoor/upcoming/may13.html
Kinda look scary, hey? but it is guaranteed a lot of
fun.

- We will do Canyoning for about 3 hours, head back to
the Canyons base then have lunch.

- After lunch, we will go rafting. In spring
(May-June) the mighty Tone River is one of the best
half-day rafting courses in Japan, with continuous
grade 3-4 rapids for over 12km perfect for all level
rafters including beginners that are looking for some
big thrills.

Check here for rafting photos from last year:

- After rafting, we will head to the cabin to chill,
relax, play cards, listen to the music, have our BBQ
party, eat and drink while waiting for the start of
the real party "FULL MOON PARTY" in the mountain. A
lot of people from different parts of Kanto region
come to this event every year. It starts from 8pm and
goes on until 7 in the morning.
