London Coliseum, St Martin's Lane
London, England WC2N 4ES

ENO closes the season with the most spectacular production in our history. The largest cast, costumes, orchestra and chorus come together with opera and music theatre stars to deliver London's unmissable summer event. Originally seen at La Scala, Milan and the Chatelet, Paris, Bernstein's Candide is a masterpiece to rank alongside the greatest 20th century works.

Hugely popular tenor Toby Spence takes the lead role. Anna Christy, who made such an impact as ENO's first-ever Lucia recently, plays the part she made her own in Milan and Paris. Alex Jennings and Beverley Klein also star. Robert Carsen directs a cast of over 100 with dazzling style and vivacity in what promises to be one of the most thrilling theatrical events of 2008.

Book adapted from Voltaire by Hugh Wheeler; Freely adapted by Robert Carsen & Ian Burton; Lyrics by Richard Wilbur; Additional lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, John Latouche, Lillian Hellman, Dorothy Parker and Leonard Bernstein
