FUTURE DESCRIPTION: Margaret Sarkissian will provide an overview of Appreciative Living, a powerful philosophy and practice that helps people to reduce the stress and generate greater happiness in their daily lives. Although Canadians live in one of the most affluent countries of the world, and for the most part enjoy access to all of life’s material essentials, we still experience anxiety, worry, and depression in record numbers. Making the choice daily to live in appreciation can lift us out of negative thoughts and beliefs, reduce the stress that erodes our wellbeing, and energize us with a more positive and hopeful outlook, which in turn generates a greater sense of peace and happiness.

BIOGRAPHY: Margaret Sarkissian, (M.A., Education; Certified Executive Coach) is an experienced facilitator, instructor, and business and life coach. She worked for many years at UBC as a counsellor, then as a manager of 2 academic programs and finally as the University’s senior human rights advisor managing complaints of discrimination and harassment. She has delivered hundreds of workshops and courses over her career, including several workshops based on the principles of appreciative living, a philosophy and practice that have been very successful in teaching participants how to reduce stress and bring more happiness into their lives.
