Canal sidewalk sale with Eiteljorg Museum, Indiana Historical Society and Indiana State Museum
Who: The Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art, Indiana Historical Society and the Indiana State Museum
What: Special sidewalk sale of merchandise from the stores of the three major cultural institutions along the Downtown canal. Each institution will offer a wide assortment of merchandise including seasonal specials and one-of-a-kind items and more.
When: Saturday, Aug. 30, 2008 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. or while merchandise lasts.
Where: The canal sidewalks of the Eiteljorg Museum, Indiana Historical Society and the Indiana State Museum
While at the sidewalk sales of these institutions, don’t forget to experience the wonderful exhibits and events inside.
The Eiteljorg Museum will offer $1 admission all weekend (Sat., Aug. 30 – Mon., Sept. 1). Enjoy the great exhibitions of Western and Native American art and artifacts. Don’t miss the interactive stagecoach exhibit in the Pulliam Education Center and the Ansel Adams in Yosemite exhibition.
Shoppers can enjoy all the Eugene and Marilyn Glick Indiana History Center has to offer by walking through the canal-level doors, where a variety of experiences are available. Step back in time and into a World War II-era grocery store with You Are There: 1945 Hoosier Home Front, get hands-on with a paper mending activity in the W. Brooks and Wanda Y. Fortune History Lab and learn how to analyze historic clues at the INvestigation Stations. The Faces of Lincoln features original materials from the IHS Abraham Lincoln collections in the Lanham Gallery on the fourth floor, and the William Henry Smith Memorial Library and Stardust Terrace Café are also available to the public.
