Sarasota Film Society invites you to join us for a special, one-time engagement as we present Music From the Big House, a documentary following the history of the blues back to Angola Prison, a maximum security facility in Louisiana where music was one of the few outlets for prisoners’ remorse and forgiveness. Joining us for this wonderful evening is Rita Chiarelli, widely known as Canada’s “Queen of the Blues”, to provide attendees with a special Q&A reception and concert following the films. Complimentary beer, wine, and soft drinks will be provided.

This exclusive event will be held at Lakewood Ranch Cinemas on Saturday, July 21st at 6:00 P.M., with the screening at 7:00 P.M., and the reception and concert directly following. Tickets are $25 in advance ($30 at the door), and can be purchased here on filmsociety.org, or at the box office of Burns Court or Lakewood Ranch Cinemas.
