With over 25 years of experience running the world's largest and most prestigious comedy festival (Montreal) and a reputation for fresh and innovative thinking, Just For Laughs and TBS will collaborate as TBS presents a "Very Funny" Festival: Just For Laughs. The ground-breaking U.S. comedy festival will hit Chicago, June 15-19, 2010.

The five-day festival will include more than 70 shows throughout various venues across the Chicago area. Three Canadian comedians will be participating in the Festival. See their website for details on schedule.

From the Just for Laughs Chicago website:

"Thomas Middleditch (actor, writer, comedian, murderer) is yet another foreigner here to steal your jobs. That is, he's Canadian. Gross. He stole your job being the lead in an indie feature film, Splinterheads, as well as starring in a bunch of commercials and being in cool shows like Baby Wants Candy and The Improvised Shakespeare Company and performing all over Chicago, NYC, LA, Toronto, colleges, your dad's basement, and your dreams. He is also much more economic with his words, unlike his pompous friend, Jordan Vogt-Roberts."

"Canadian-born Russell Peters has a truly international following. The Anglo-Indian comic has toured the world over the last few years, from sold-out theatres to sold-out arenas. In 2007, as a matter of fact, one ticket was sold every two seconds in Dubai; then, in 2009, he shattered box office records in the UK for number of tickets sold to an individual comedy show (16,000 at The O2 in London). His comedy DVDs Outsourced and Russell Peters: Red, White, And Brown (which was filmed at Madison Square Garden) have collectively sold over a quarter of a million copies worldwide and continue to sell like gangbusters. Peters is also popular along the festival circuit, having appeared at Just For Laughs, The Las Vegas Comedy Festival, and the former Aspen Comedy Festival. Few comics are as impressive as the consistently popular Peters, and few have such a long history with Just For Laughs: he has performed six times at the Montreal Fest, has appeared on several shows at the Toronto Fest (including 2 outdoor performances for more than 40,000 fans) and hosted a sold-out all-star Gala at last year's inaugural Chicago Festival. Huzzah!"

"Praised as "Canada's answer to Bill Hicks," the irreverent and irresistible Mike Wilmot continues to swear and sweat his way into the hearts of critics and audiences worldwide. Tackling topics like diets, sex and American-Canadian backbiting, Wilmot charms audiences with a down-to-earth (some might say gutter) outlook on everyday life as seen through an everyman haze (did we mention he often times his shows by the number of beers he's had?). A cult hero overseas, he's received international honours like the Perrier, Barry and Time Out awards. On television he's starred in Rich Hall's Fishing Show, hosted Paramount/Comedy Central's Comedy Blue and currently stars on the hit series The Foundation. And like the best foundations Mike Wilmot, though at times a bit cracked, is solid through and through."
