CAMBRIDGE, MA—March 1, 2009—The Cambridge Concentus period ensemble said today it will perform its final concert of the season on March 8th at the First Church in Cambridge. The program pairs J.S. Bach's apocalyptic cantata Wachet! betet! betet! wachet! with the Fifth Brandenburg Concerto. The concerto's legendary keyboard part, apocalyptic in its own right, is a perfect opportunity for harpsichordist Leon Schelhase to shine while Wachet! betet! betet! wachet! brilliantly depicts the anticipation of and preparation for the final day of judgement - perhaps a fitting theme for the end of its season:
