Calligraphy I: Introduction Workshop with Natasha Lawrence October 3, 2012

Adults ages 18 and up will learn the practical art of calligraphy ("beautiful writing") to address wedding invitations or greeting cards, write in journals, make gift tags, or for personal correspondence. All materials are provided: calligraphy pen to keep, workbook, practice paper, and more. Professional calligrapher to the Historic Charleston Foundation and instructor at the Charleston Museum, Natasha Lawrence, will provide instruction on fundamental techniques to write with calligraphy pens in the classic Italian Italics lettering style. Students will also have an opportunity to practice writing with different calligraphy pens, study calligraphy art work, books, and resources. No artistic ability is necessary. Registration closes one week prior to day of session.
