616 Macleod Trail SE
Calgary, Alberta

Photographers, primarily users of the Flickr photo hosting service, get together to chat and then head out to take pictures of the community together.

Meeting will commence at 12:30 PM.

Photo Stroll
We will leave the Cafe at 1:15 PM sharp, heading south down MacLeod Trail to 11th Ave (Victoria Park.

The plan is for a special photostroll through the Victoria Park area. The Calgary Stampede is going to knock down all the houses for expansion (let's not get into politics now, too late in this case). There are still a few buildings left standing, and a lot of empty lots where the old houses have come down.

The idea would be to photodocument the decay of the community and a documentation of what is left there, before it all gets torn down.

This photoshoot will be a little more time intensive than most will be - likely more walking than usual.

Over the winter, as sunset comes much sooner in the day, we will plan our photostrolls earlier in the afternoon, to make sure we don't run out of available daylight hours.

(There's a discussion about the event on the Flickr group for Calgary.)
