The compositions of Los Angeles-born composer John Cage swirl with controversy, but few composers have been as influential in the dance, visual arts and musical worlds. His collaborations with Merce Cunningham, Robert Rauschenberg, Yoko Ono, and many others, are legendary. Hear for yourself a range of his works celebrating his centennial year.

Cage was influenced greatly by Henry David Thoreau who will be represented by two works: Score and Lecture on the Weather, which consists of readings from Thoreau’s works by 12 speakers accompanied by the sounds of a gathering storm. Draw your own conclusions and hear these important works, alongside many others, at this national celebration of America’s groundbreaking composer, John Cage.
