Tony Book (Riomay Limited)

"The reality of climate change is forcing us to look at new energy sources to replace fossil fuels. The sun can supply all the energy we require, but we need the right equipment to collect it. Tony Book will give an overview of the various types of renewable, together with the associated costs, and grants and tax breaks available; he will also cover the relevant planning regulations and political aspects of renewable energy. Tony will then give a more detailed account of solar thermal systems, which use the sun’s energy to directly heat water; he will describe the different types available (flat plate and evacuated tube systems), their structure and efficiency, building integration and technical solutions."

7:30 for 8pm start.

This event is part of the Brighton Festival Fringe.

Meetings are FREE (although a contribution to expenses is appreciated)

"This month Café Scientifique returns to the Hanover Community Centre (Southover Street, Brighton BN2 9UD) for a one-off event linked to the Brighton Festival Fringe. [...] As there may be increased numbers due to the the Fringe connection, I’d advise you to get there early; in February, at the Science Festival event, the room was already filling up at 7pm. (Start time is still 8pm as usual)."
