The Boston Young Professionals Association and Lindt Chocolates invite you to a spectacular, one-of-a-kind New Year's Eve experience. The Global Gala is an upscale, lavish black tie optional event (suits acceptable), complete with entertainment, a great crowd and amazing decor. This exclusive party offers party favors, breakfast, champagne toast at midnight and Lindt gift bags for all attendees!There will be dancing to two types of music, mixing and mingling with new and old friends, and all in the best location in the city.

  VENUE Lir is certainly no Liberty Hotel, but it is located right in the center of town on Boylston Street. They've got great service, and work hard to make us happy. Plus we can offer a VIP ticket that includes dinner and drinks for less than $100 (last year's at The Liberty was $300 easy.) Best part besides seeing the fireworks and having First Night at our doorstep - oh, and them staying open for breakfast until 3am?   BARS The bars will be stocked with full bars, plus special themed beverages on each floor: Mai Tais in Shanghai, Wine in Paris and Hurricanes in New Orleans. There will be one bartender or server staffed per every 50 attendees, plus specialty drinks will be premixed for those purchasing drink tickets in advance for faster service.

  PHOTOGRAPHY The Parisian, Chinese and Mardi Gras decor will serve as the canvas for this “picture-perfect” moment. It will be your chance to pose solo, with your significant other, or with your group of friends. Memories are all we keep, and The Global Gala will help you save those memories. Plus, we know after a few drinks, your hair might not be exactly how you left it. So we’ll do our best to capture you as soon as you enter or shortly thereafter. Just make your way to the photo backdrops around the top of each hour and you should find our photographer there. BYPA has hired a professional photographer to capture all those special moments, the essence of New Year’s and we are going to post 1,000+ pictures on our website within days after the event.

  Rates do not include applicable state and local taxes, currently 14.45%. No automatic or mandatory charges are tips, gratuities, or service charges for employees, unless otherwise expressly stated. There will be an additional charge of $20.00 each for a third and fourth person in a room per night plus tax.
  
  
  
  Individuals will be responsible for making their own reservations with our Reservations Department. In order to receive the rates outlined in this agreement, guests must identify their affiliation with the Boston Young Professionals Assoc. Room Block. Rates cannot be changed at check-in or check-out. Preferred rates and availability can be confirmed by dialing our Reservations Department at (800) 225-2008.
  
  
  
  Reservation requests will be accepted up until the cut-off date of December 21, 2009. After this date, any unused portion of the block of rooms will be automatically released back into general inventory. Reservation requests received after this date will be subject to space availability and room rate.
  
  
  
  All reservations must be guaranteed for late arrival at the time the reservation is made. This deposit in the amount of one night’s room and tax may be made in the form of a major credit card with expiration date at the time of the reservation. If using cash or check, the deposit must be received within 5 business days.
  
  
  
  CHECK-IN TIME IS AFTER 3:00 PM AND CHECK-OUT TIME IS BY 12:00 PM Guests are required to cancel their reservation at least 24 hours prior to arrival. Failure to do so will be subject to a cancellation fee of one night's room and tax. The hotel's early departure policy requires the guest to confirm their departure date upon arrival/check-in. If they depart earlier than the departure date confirmed on the day they arrived, then they will be subjected to an early departure fee of one night's room and tax.

  TRANSPORTATION
  
  As you know, roads will be closed for First Night, so we recommend taking public transportation unless you intend to arrive very early. The MBTA is providing extra transit services throughout the First Night Festivities and will be offering free service after 8:00 p.m. The MBTA is well prepared to transport First Night participants in and out of Boston safely and efficiently and urges travelers to take the T to avoid traffic and parking hassles.
