Redondo & Cornell on the UNM campus
Albuquerque, New Mexico

When superstar rock n’ roll performer, Conrad Birdie, is drafted into the army, his agent and songwriter Albert Peterson decides on one last publicity stunt. When he plans to have the rock star sing Albert’s new song and kiss one lucky girl on The Ed Sullivan Show, a series of outrageous events commence. The score brims with classics such as “Put on a Happy Face,” “A Lot of Livin’ To Do,” “One Last Kiss,” “One Boy,” the riotous lament of parents with teenagers “Kids” and an uproarious salute to the greater glory of Ed Sullivan. Bye Bye Birdie is one of the most captivating musical satires ever written.
