Bunnell S.T.A.G.E. Presents The Pajama Game

The members of Bunnell S.T.A.G.E. invite you to attend our musical production of The Pajama Game, a frisky tale based on the novel, “7 ½ Cents”, by Richard Bissell. This quirky musical is a comedic war of the sexes, set in a 1950’s pajama factory, where the labor of love and labor laws perform an intricate dance.
The Pajama Game was awarded 3 Tony Awards in 1955 and 2 Tony Awards for its revival in 2006, including such numbers as “Hey There”, “Hernando’s Hideaway”, and “Steam Heat”. Sid Sorokin (Collin Anderson) makes his debut as Superintendent at Sleep Tite pajama factory, and encounters the formidable and spunky head of the grievance committee, Babe Williams (Jonelle Sedgwick). The battle for a 7 ½ cents raise is propelled by a multitude of dance numbers featuring Vernon Hines (Richie DeBiase) and the object of his affection/insanity, Gladys Hotchkiss (Erin Williams). Sid’s secretary, Mabel (Mia Gaspar), entertains Hines’s obsession in “I’ll Never Be Jealous Again” with a crowd-pleasing, soft-shoed song and dance you will not sleep through!
The Pajama Game is directed by Meghann England, choreographed by Sara Renstrom, and musically directed by Will Duchon. Student Directors Erin Williams and Collin Anderson worked tirelessly in coordinating the collective vision for this production. Special thanks to Lawrence Farrell and Matt Pecora’s S.T.A.G.E. Crew for set construction, as well as all the benevolent S.T.A.G.E. parents for their love and support for the program. We hope to see you and your mother enjoying this hilarious and upbeat show on Mother’s Day weekend. Sleep tite!
