AGO, TSO, NFB and more partner with BUNCH for Family Salon -
a symposium for the kidtelligentsia and their parents.

Toronto families are invited to be a part of the first ever Bunch Family Salon, an afternoon of art and ideas for kids and parents presented by Bunch, the company behind the wildly successful Family Dance Party series at the Drake hotel.

Participating in the event are major cultural institutions including The Art Gallery of Ontario, The Toronto Symphony Orchestra, The National Film Board, The Royal Conservatory of Music, The Lorraine Kimsa Theatre for Young People and design gurus Levitt Goodman Architects. In addition, Bunch will be joined by a number of well-known writers, artists and musicians including Misha Glouberman and David Eddie.
Bunch Family Salon is the first event of its kind, think of it as a Nuit Blanche for families.
Activities include:

*Lectures by Kids, hosted by Trampoline Hall's Misha Glouberman

*Percussion Petting Zoo with the TSO’s lead timpanist David Kent

*Art Workshop with the AGO

*Design-a-Fort: a hands on collaboration between Bunch families and Levitt Goodman Architects, winners of the Governor General's Medal.

*Reverse Readings, in which literary luminaries read and analyze stories by kids aged 3-11, who are then interviewed.
*Animation Stations: Create storyboards, clay characters and short animated films with the NFB.
*Guerilla Opera, courtesy of the Royal Conservatory of Music. An undercover opera singer will patrol the Salon, breaking into song when you least expect it.

The Salon tradition dates back to 17th century France, where a host or hostess would bring together interesting and creative people to entertain and inspire one another.
