Join us at the National Maritime Museum for an afternoon of events to celebrate Chinese New Year and then at the Royal Observatory in Greenwich for a very special Evening With the Stars.

From 11.30 until 16.00 there is a free drop-in workshop in the National Maritime Museum for families co-delivered by a BSL-using workshop leader who will help you explore the galleries through drawing.

From 15.00 until 15.30 there will be short performances from a graceful troupe of Taiwanese dancers on the Main Deck in the National Maritime Museum. The introductions for the dances will be BSL interpreted. This event is free.

At 15.45 until 16.30, there will be a free talk by one of our researchers at the National Maritime Museum in the Lecture Theatre where he will explore the first maritime connections between Britain and China. This talk will be BSL interpreted.

In the evening, from 17.30 until 21.30 up the hill at the Royal Observatory, Greenwich, we are hosting an Evening With the Stars where the planetarium and observatory are open late exclusively for ticket holders. The planetarium will be showing Star Life, a show explaining the life cycle of stars and this has BSL interpretation as a part of the show and The Sky Tonight where one of our astronomers will explain what is visible in the skies above us on the evening. This is BSL interpreted.

We also offer the very special chance to go up into the old observatory in Flamsteed house where you can meet with our astronomers to ask any astronomy questions you may have and have a look through the telescope there. This is BSL interpreted.

You'll also have exclusive access to the galleries in the planetarium, letting you experience our interactive exhibits which include BSL interpretation as a part of their design.

The Evening With the Stars is suitable for anyone aged over 16. Access to the observatory at Flamsteed House is by spiral staircase and unfortunately is not wheelchair accessible.

Tickets for the Evening With The Stars are £15 or £11 concessions (including Deaf people) and can be booked from:
