Trey Pollard will open on solo guitar.

Richmond Love Call features Bryan Hooten’s pioneering work on unaccompanied trombone through free improvisations and arrangements of jazz standards by Mingus, Ellington and Hancock. The record also documents Hooten’s unique take multiphonics, the practice of singing and playing trombone simultaneously, a technique originally brought to prominence by German jazz trombonist Albert Mangelsdorff. Recorded, mixed and mastered locally at Songwire Studios and featuring the artwork of Cary Ralston, the album is a love letter to Richmond, VA and its trombonists, with whom Hooten has made so much music since moving here in 2004. CDs will be on sale for $10.
