Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band In Concert May 2, 2009

AEG Live and the Greensboro Coliseum Complex have announced Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will perform in concert on Saturday, May 2 at 7:30 pm.

Tickets will go on sale Friday, February 6th at 10:00 a.m. and may be purchased at www.ticketmaster.com, all Ticketmaster outlets including participating area Lowes Foods locations, FYE and Macy’s stores, charge by phone at 1-800-745-3000 or at the Greensboro Coliseum box office.

Two types of tickets will be offered: general admission tickets on the arena floor that allow patrons to stand, club-style, in a relaxed atmosphere, and reserved arena seating around the perimeter of the Coliseum in the lower and upper bowls.

The May 2nd concert is the only date in the Carolinas for Springsteen’s Working On A Dream tour, which celebrates the release of his 24th album that hit stores this week and received five stars in a review in the current issue of Rolling Stone.

Bruce Springsteen said, "Towards the end of recording 'Magic,' excited by the return to pop production sounds, I continued writing. When my friend producer Brendan O'Brien heard the new songs, he said, 'Let's keep going.' Over the course of the next year, that's just what we did, recording with the E Street Band during the breaks on last year's tour. I hope Working on a Dream has caught the energy of the band fresh off the road from some of the most exciting shows we've ever done. All the songs were written quickly, we usually used one of our first few takes, and we all had a blast making this one from beginning to end.”

Prior to the tour’s kickoff, Springsteen and the E Street Band will also perform during halftime of the Super Bowl (Feb. 1, Tampa, FL). The May 2nd concert will mark Springsteen’s seventh appearance at the Greensboro Coliseum, including a two-night stand on January 18-19, 1985, in which he performed for more than 30,000 fans.
