Brooklyn Bridge and South Street Seaport July 9, 2011

Take a walk across the bridge to learn about its creation and early history, with a discussion of the dramatic sacrifice of the Roebling family that designed it and the immigrants that built it. Then a stroll through the historic maritime district with the largest concentration of restored 19th century buildings in the city. Stops include Titanic Memorial Lighthouse, Schermerhorn Row, Cannon Walk and the Paris Cafe.
