Dodgeball is a fast, fun, action-packed game played by female and male players aged over 16. It is the fastest growing team sport in the UK, played by over 3,000 people.

The UKDBA has organised the first ever national tournament in May. It is open to all adult dodgeball teams.

Early favourites to win the cup include Loughborough Pythons, the University team that won the Leicester League in their first season; Northampton Cobras and Northampton Dodge Vipers, the most experienced non-university teams; Staffordshire University, the reigning University Champions; and Leeds Met University, who are unbeaten for almost 2 years.

Nick Pinnock, Secretary of the sport's governing body, the UK Dodge Ball Association, said, 'Leicester has the largest league in the country and with its central location we thought it would make an ideal venue for the National Tournament'

New UKDBA Chairman Steve Moore is delighted at how preparations for the tournament are progressing. 'We already have 26 teams interested and we've only just started promoting the tournament. This is going to be the biggest event ever in the history of UK dodgeball.'

The British Championship is open to all adult teams in the UK. Players must be aged at least 16 and teams need 6 players on court at the start of a game, with 3 balls in play.
