Surrey Royal British Legion are holding annual British Armed Forces and Veterans Race Day at Lingfield Park on Saturday 25th June 2011
Supported by the MOD, our Defence Minister Lord Astor of Hever DL will be present as will the Lord-Lieutenant of Surrey - Mrs Sarah GOAD JP; Professor Michael JOY OBE - High Sheriff of Surrey; the Hon Lavinia SEALY - Chairman of Surrey County Council and Cllr Brian PERKINS - Chairman of Tandrdge DC
Accompanying the Minister will ber Brigadier Simon WOLSEY OBE - Head of 2 Brigade [SE]
There will be a March Past and Inspection by the Royal Anglians at 18.00 hours.
They will assemble in front of the Grandstand
The Royal Anglians who are based in Pirbright, having served already in Afghanistan are due back there early in the New Year.
Taking part in the March-past will also be Surrey Veterans and Surrey Army Cadets, along with Surrey RBL Standard-Bearers.
Former Servicemen and women are invited to join us for the March-Past and for the Special Celebratory Reception and Party after the 5th Race, when Veterans Badges will be presented.

The Royal British Legion has sponsored three races including the Surrey Royal British Legion 90th Anniversary Stakes.

The Evening concludes with a Bon Jovi Concert - to which everyone is invited!
