Recording since the age of 13 and tagged “rock’s boy genius” by the music press, 27- year-old Conor Oberst – the singer of Bright Eyes – has found himself hurled from his indie rock enclave onto the world’s stage. While reaching new heights of commercial success, Oberst has been hailed as perhaps the finest songwriter of his generation. He remains, however, an artist unwilling to leave his hometown label for any major label’s promises. In addition to Oberst, Bright Eyes consists of multi-instrumentalist/producer Mike Mogis, horn player and keyboardist Nate Walcott and a rotating lineup of collaborators drawn primarily from Omaha's indie music scene where Oberst grew up.

Bright Eyes’ new full-length album "Cassadaga," due out on April 10, features Oberst, Mogis and Walcott as well as guest appearances by artists like Sleater-Kinney's Janet Weiss.
