Brice Marden: 12 Views for Caroline Tatyana August 16, 2007

The work of Brice Marden, American painter and printmaker, is often influenced by his travels. '12 Views for Caroline Tatyana' dedicated to Marden's goddaughter, was completed a few years after he started spending summers on the island of Hydra, in Greece. It is a minimalist interpretation of Greek columns and the effect of light and shadow on them. The prints offer twelve different perspectives of the colonnades as if tracing the patterns made by the sun throughout the day.
