An annual Austin event,  this year celebrates the 10th Austin Father’s Day concert with Brian Cutean and Robert Vignaud. A recent internet radio concert made by Cutean and Vignaud has been downloaded more than 4.000 times.

 Cutean’s 2010 release of Guitarred and Feathered, a new wordless guitar album is another cause for celebration. Cutean’s latest recording is 10 songs with no words performed on one guitar. The disc is currently in rotation on national and international radio with more than 100 stations reporting in.

The concert takes place Sunday June 19 at Jovita’s, 1619 S. 1st St., Austin, Tx at  7:30 pm and all ages are welcome. 
Tickets are $5 - $10 sliding scale 
with no one turned away for lack of funds. 

About the musicians:
Robert Vignaud (bassist, acoustic and electric) is a native of Southern Louisiana (Lake Charles and Lafayette). In Lake Charles, he played for several years in the house band at the legendary Bamboo Club. While attending college in Lafayette, he toured and recorded with a variety of groups including the Renaissance Cajun band, Beausoliel, the Lake Charles Symphony Orchestra, the Alexandria Symphony Orchestra, and several improvisational jazz ensembles. Since relocating to Austin, he has performed and recorded with a widely diverse assortment of musical ensembles. Current projects include the Austin Cajun Aces, The Nash Hernandez Orchestra, Frenezi, and Brian Cutean. His major musical influence to date has been the eruption of the volcano Krakatoa.


Brian Cutean, a mainstay of the the Austin music landscape in the 80’s and early 90s, performed regularly at places like Chicago House, Maggie Mae’s, The Cactus Café, The Other Side, Folkville and other venerable venues. Now based in the Pacific Northwest and still at it, he performs, writes and tours, making a Texas trip once a year in Spring.
Cutean has been a part of the Kerrville Folk Festival for more than 30 years and the traditional Father’s Day event is scheduled the weekend after the fest. For the last few years, he’s been producing an annual fundraising disc for the
 Texas Folk Music Foundation of live campfire recordings called Songharvest.
