A Connecticut native, bassist BRIAN EARL JENKINS is a graduate of The University of Hartford, Hartt School of Music. He is student of the late saxophone legend Jackie McLean, bassist Nat Reeves, and pianist Hotep Galeta. Jenkins has been a fixture of the New England music scene for the last decade and a half and has performed with an eclectic list of musicians in a wide range of musical styles. They include trombonist Steve Davis’ Explorers Quintet from 1994-98, with whom he recorded two CDs, “The Moon Knows” and “New Terrain”; Saxophonists: Houston Person, Mike DiRubbo, and Kris Jensen; vocalists, Shawnn Monteiro and Nicole Pasternak; Guitarists Kevin O’Neil, Joe Beck and Michael Musillami, Richard Goldstein and Chris Tofield; Pianists: Kent Hewitt, Warren Byrd and Mark Templeton; and many Jazz, Rock, R&B, and Blues outfits of the northeastern U.S.A.

The BRIAN EARL JENKINS BAND, formed in mid 2006, is a fresh and eclectic musical entity. Consisting of stellar musicians, (Kevin O’Neil, a brilliant guitarist/composer, who has toured extensively with jazz great, Anthony Braxton; the boundless talent of a rising young star of the piano, Craig Hartley; the relentless rhythmic and sonic power of drummer, Ben Bilello; rounded out by the rollicking bass work of leader and founder, bassist BRIAN EARL JENKINS). THE BRIAN EARL JENKINS BAND, seeks to utilize a multitude of musical influences by playing works from hard-bop legends like, Wayne Shorter, Miles Davis, Bill Evans, and John Coltrane, original compositions, and re-harmonized arrangements of hard rock melodies by such artists as Ozzy Osbourne, Black Sabbath, Alice in Chains, and others.
