Brian Dykstra is a Renaissance man of spoken word. The acclaimed poet/actor/comedian/director/playwright will present his newest piece “The Jesus Factor” at Comix on August 6th!

Brian has appeared on Def Poetry Jam and Comedy Central’s “Chappelle’s Show.” He has also written and produced several off-Broadway shows that have received multiple awards, including the 2006 Edinburgh Festival Fringe First Award. His political rants and poetic sensibility has Variety saying: “Brian Dykstra wields a monologue like a sword! His work provides the startling immediacy that makes live performance feel so alive!”

His writing and performances have also caught the eye of the Village Voice, which says: “Brian Dykstra is working hard to turn ranting into a new genre, and if he succeeds comedy may not be safe. He can make you think as hard as you laugh.” His comedy is anything but safe, and his bold presence has caught the attention and praise of critics all over New York.

Come see this edgy artist’s newest rant at Comix!
