What happened to Bob?!?!
On Monday, May 13th, noted local guitarist, bluesman Bob Sauls slipped on his front porch steps (It was raining that day) and fell and broke his right leg and ankle. As a result, he is temporarily incapacitated for the next few months. Doctors describe it as a "Bad Break", and in the effort to set his leg, the doctors were obliged to use some pins in the leg and a plate in the right ankle. He is expected to be able to walk again eventually, but the doctors also say that he will not recover full use of the ankle.

What's happening?!?!
In efforts to help Bob Sauls offset some of his unexpected medical bills and other expenses, his friends and colleagues have pulled together to throw 2 benefit shows. The first is on Friday, May 1st, 2009 at 8:00pm at the Carabar (115 Parsons Ave., Columbus, OH 43215, 614-223-1010, www.myspace.com/carabar). The show is FREE to enter! As the Carabar pays a portion of drink sales to the event, it is strongly suggested that patrons take a cab or arrange a designated driver and drink up in support of one of central Ohio's longtime music icons. For those who do not wish to drink (or those who are feeling particularly generous) donations are graciously accepted. The line-up includes: Happy Chichester, Megan Palmer, The Nuclear Children, The Myke Rock-Michael Ravage-John Coleman Band, Baby Lindy & The Drugmothers, Kim Crawford, and The "Aint Got No Money" Open Stage (8:00pm to 9:00pm, Sign-up in advance at [email protected])! For more information, please email [email protected] or phone the Carabar at (614) 223-1010.
